This primary uses centrifugal force to suck the two sheaves of the pulley toward one another as the caddie gets faster and faster. As it does, the belt gets pulled further into the secondary located on the rear axle. The further it moves down, the faster you go. There is a spring internally in this one that keeps the clutch closed as long as possible. This allows torque to build for hill climbing and pulling heavy loads. If that spring wears out, you will not have any problems on flat ground, but elevation changes will be quite the challenge.
